Naijalane’s e-interview with the Chief Editor of Chaktty Media

  1. CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF?

I’m Akinyande Ayomide, the Chief editor of www.wiFicallingiPhone.com and www.healthriskfood.com, a fitness expert, author and technician.

  1. HOW YOU FIRST GOT INVOLVED IN WITH BLOGGING?

I started blogging in the year 2005 as fun after I attended wealth creation seminar and blogging was the main aspect of the program in which, we were not even taught very well in the seminar but i was excited to have the idea of the components of website and the back-end.

  1. WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING ABOUT BLOGGING ABOUT YOUR TOPIC SINCE

you are a fitness specialist and you multi niche separately?

Well, the ability to change focus. I find it very difficult to update the blogs daily and whenever I’m working on a blog, I don’t find it easy to change focus and work on the other blog despite the fact that, I love the two niches even outside blogging life.

  1. HOW WOULD YOU THINK I WILL DESCRIBE YOUR BLOGGING STYLE?

I think individuality would take effect here and the perception you take it from. Generally, i write to one reader and make it personal to him/her in a tone that’s more of a friend than speaker. For my tech blog, I have a topography that I’m not likely to change soon and for my health blog, I give subheadings, bullet points in a list form and highlight important phrases since I write extensively.

5 .ARE YOU A FULL TIME BLOGGER?

Almost a full-time blogger now since I’ve already setup a new office but I don’t open the office everyday for now because of other things I attend to.

  1. WHAT NETWORKING DO YOU DO THAT YOU FEEL HELPS YOUR BLOGGING BUSINESS?

Oh! Blogging life is not really interesting in Nigeria but I network with the big fish in blogging in Europe and one of the items in my plans this year is to network with bloggers in Nigeria and Africa as a whole as I intend to start promoting app developers and showcasing their apps.

  1. HOW DO YOU KEEP COMING UP WITH MATERIAL/CONTENT FOR YOUR BLOG? MANY

PEOPLE STRUGGLE WITH COMING UP WITH DIFFERENT ARTICLES/POSTS AND THEY ONLY

HAVE ONE BLOG.

Yes, you’re right, having failed with three blogs, I know how important article is to blog and for the fact that, I love writing. I do write and draw when I was a little boy but what really helped me is my association with web-masters in developed countries. They take blogging as serious business, fund it well and make their money. I learn their culture and mastered it. Having said that, Your content is a great asset and asset usually bring passive income.

  1. WHAT’S YOUR STRATEGY WITH YOUR BLOG IN GENERAL?

Publish useful and evergreen content, study where my visitors are likely going to come from and prepare for they want in the post, especially making mention of their country in the post.

  1. DO YOU THINK PAGE RANK PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN A BLOG’S LIFE?

All metrics are pointing to value. Irrespective of the name given to it, what the metric is going to evaluate is value. Therefore, PR as a name may be obsolete but PR as a blog’s value-metric is forever important. As search engines algorithm usually change, unfortunately metrics don’t change in the parameters for estimating blog value but i won’t be surprised if some of the old metrics evolve into new ones.

  1. WHICH DO U PREFER MOST AND WHY? CONTENT? SEO? TRAFFIC? READERS?
READ AlSO  30 mins interview with Lawal Ibrahim abayomi Co - owner of naijalane blog

I think they’re related. Content is the main body of SEO, traffic is the outcome while readers is the result you get from the second component of SEO, which is off-page, commonly referred to as outbound linking or backlinks. In other word, I go with SEO with the reason just said.

  1. WHAT’S THE BEST THING A BLOGGER CAN GIVE TO HIS READERS?

Quality, Solution to their problems

  1. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED IN BLOGGING FOR THE MONEY EARNING

POTENTIAL. HOW MUCH DO YOU EARN FROM YOUR BLOG

I’ve not started monetizing by blogs. Authority is my priority in blogging.

13.TELL ME NAME OF YOUR BLOGGERS YOU NETWORK WITH..(YOUR BLOGGER FRIENDS)

As regards names, they are many and I only know them by their moniker because those guys are very sensitive, they believe Google is everywhere, so, they usually talk about ‘footprint’, they don’t leave footprints, meaning they don’t reveal most of what they do and they don’t joke with their identities.

14.WHATS YOUR FAVORITE NIGERIA BLOG NICHE

My favourite Nigeria blogging niche is Tech.

I don’t bookmark blogs, I search when I need to acquire knowledge and read from any blog I could get what I want. There are many Nigerian blogs I’ve read; both popular and non-popular blogs.

15.WHAT DO YOU THINK CAN BE DONE TO THE ISSUE OF PLAGIARISM AMONG BLOGGERS

You just need to be smarter and also, search engines are fighting the battle, most plagiarized posts don’t get anywhere in serp.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR GF/WIFE

My wife has been wonderful, she didn’t believe in the potentials of blogging but later sensed value in it as a result of my commitment. She do help me type sometimes and motivate me.

ADVICE TO UPCOMING BLOGGERS AND HOW TO REASEARCH ON TOPIC AND TREND FASTER

Blogging affect my social life seriously but once I get to the top of the game, I will control that. Blogging is only stressful when you do it all alone without budget to finance it. Many bloggers in Europe have not written a single post on their blog and they have many blogs. They fund their bloggers and let people do the most work for them.

Blogging is serious business and you should take it as such. Understand the pros and cons of blogging before you choose the path of blogging. The internet is a free space where you can learn almost everything about blogging, so, read, read, practice, rinse and repeat.
